Get Fame or Die Trying

“I was listening to the XX. I am very fascinated by the band. The impression they gave me was of isolation; that they were calm but awkward.” Later he told me that he had started to wonder “who they were,” contemplating whether he should dedicate a collection to them. Instead, he chose to make subtle references to the indie-favorite band, by using a reoccurring ‘X’ print and an abstraction of cutting X-like lines into the bias. In keeping with the mood of the band’s music, he wanted to convey a clear statement, which read, “leave me alone.” The collection was designed to be story-less, yet it still incorporated ingredients that referenced his past.
