I don’t know how anyone can deny the impact of message board culture on menswear. Without superfuture and the accumulated knowledge on there I doubt there would be enough interest in Japanese denim for shops like Selfedge or Blue in Green to exist. Without the influence of message boards would the typical style evolution of
dunks -> apc jeans -> chambray shirts -> weirdo shit have existed?
